Safer At Home
In March 2020, Los Angeles was ordered to shelter in place. What began as a photograph of a neighbor through her window grew into a citywide project. Over the following months, I photographed and interviewed more than seventy individuals, couples, and families across Los Angeles.
Each window revealed a different experience of the pandemic. Some spoke of loneliness and loss, others of new love, unexpected closeness, and resilience. Together, these portraits form a collective portrait of a city navigating an unprecedented moment in time.
